Welcome to
Spring Creek Reserve

Spring Creek Reserve Karangahake Logo

Your stay here is helping support the regeneration of the majestic Kauri tree and our native bird and aquatic life.

Our Heritage farm plays a vital role as an ecological corridor, linking two significant wilderness areas - the Coromandel Ranges to the north and the Kaimai Ranges to the south.

Through the replanting of native Kauri forest and the restoration of habitat for indigenous birdlife and aquatic species, we are actively strengthening this natural connection and enhancing biodiversity across the region.

Tony Howse of Spring Creek Reserve

Your host, local artist Tony Howse has designed and built Spring Creek Reserve to be a regenerating Kauri forest, for future generations.

Tony is also the recipient of the Pride of New Zealand Conservation Award, recognising decades of dedicated conservation work through the Coromandel - including the founding of the Karangahake Native Bird Reserve.

The kauri lake walk and art gallery are signposted. Please enjoy your stay.
